An agent for Harvey Weinstein has knocked Gwyneth Paltrow for unwanted sexual advances accusations she made against the disgraced movie magnate.
Back in 2017, the Avengers: Endgame actress informed The New York Times she was “scared” of the previous Miramax boss, adding she “believed he was going to fire” her when her then-boyfriend Brad Pitt threatened the manufacturer after she declined his invite to join him for a massage and perhaps more in the mid-1990s.
But taking aim at the star’s “unjustified” claims, Weinstein’s spokesperson informed Deadline there was no reality in her allegations.
” Gwyneth Paltrow originates from Hollywood royalty,” they insisted. “Her father was a top manufacturer, her mom a popular star, her godfather is Steven Spielberg. She didn’t need to make movies with Harvey Weinstein; she wanted to, and she won leading awards and was the top-paid female star for nearly a decade, with Weinstein.”
“Her story of her task being at stake is simply unjustified,” they included.
The remarks come quickly after Megan Twohey, one of the reporters who first released the claims against Weinstein, told U.S. TELEVISION show Today Paltrow was among the first high-profile stars to offer their assistance in the investigation.
More than 70 women have implicated the New York-born producer of sexual misconduct, but he has denied the claims and maintains all the sexual encounters were consensual.
The case against him will begin in a court in Manhattan, New York in January, where he faces many charges, consisting of rape and predatory sexual assault, which carries the prospect of a lengthy jail sentence.
