The Big Dog gets a shot at the Intercontinental Title on tomorrow night’s Smackdown.
As WWE wants to do its finest to make SmackDown feel like a big deal, the business has relied on the tried and checked concept of giving Roman Reigns a title shot.
Formally announced for tomorrow night’s SmackDown, Reigns will be challenging for Shinsuke Nakamura’s Intercontinental Champion.
This match all stemmed from some Twitter bickering in between Shinsuke’s mouthpiece Sami Zayn and WWE’s resident Huge Canine.
Earlier today, wrestling fans were left a little stunned after Eric Bischoff was officially eliminated from his tasks as Executive Director of SmackDown and changed by Bruce Prichard. Prichard has famously been a long, veteran accomplice of Vince McMahon’s and viewed by many as the consummate Yes Man (no, not in a Daniel Bryan way) to Vinny Mac.
For those of us who are eagerly awaiting for SmackDown to be provided a new sense of energy and an upturn from the dross of current months, tonight’s trip for the blue brand is absolutely big– with this being the first week where SmackDown can really be handled its own benefits considering that moving to FOX.
That FOX best was heftily boosted by the presence of a specific Great One and after that by the arrival of Cain Velasquez, while recently’s SmackDown was bogged down by the WWE Draft. Now however, it’s time for SmackDown to hopefully get its sh * t together and once again begin to deliver an appealing product.
This week’s SmackDown occurs from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
