Nicki Minaj: ‘Retirement Tweet Was Taken Too Literally’

Nicki Minaj was stunned when fans took her at her word when she revealed her retirement last month (Sep19).

The rap artist felt she had made it clear she was talking about her next album– not her career– when she suggested she was preparing to focus her time on beginning a household with husband-to-be Kenneth Petty.

In a brand-new interview with The Shade Space, which was posted to Instagram on Sunday (20Oct19), Minaj stated, “When I posted that retirement tweet, I knew that I still had music that I currently had taped that was still going to come out, so the retirement was kind of discussing my album, meaning like, ‘Do I wish to go back and tape my 5th album …?’.

” I didn’t know my fans would imitate that with the tweet. It hurt my feelings since I seem like the method I did it was maybe insensitive to my fans … However I didn’t understand it was going to be that big of an offer, so that’s why I erased it.”.

Nicki also opened up about her hampering nuptials, revealing she still can’t choose whether she desires a big bash or a private gathering.
” We’ll definitely do the documentation portion of the marital relationship, however the actual wedding, I don’t understand,” she specified. “You know when you’re a little girl and you desire this huge gorgeous wedding, I used to believe I was among those girls. I constantly desired the fairy tale. But then the important things that utilized to matter to you do not matter as much.”.
