Off-Duty Dallas Police Officer Incorrectly Fires, Shooting his Own Child

An off-duty Dallas policeman inadvertently shot and hurt his adult kid in DeSoto Saturday evening, cops state.

Around 6 p.m. Oct. 26, DeSoto police replied to a shooting call in the 1400 block of Carriage Creek Drive, where the caller– that identified himself as an off-duty Dallas law enforcement officer– told police officers he mistakenly shot his grown-up child after mistaking him for a trespasser.

When cops showed up, they found the off-duty officer’s boy bleeding from his ideal forearm. He was delivered to a neighboring medical facility with a non-life threatening injury. Neither his or his daddy’s name have actually been launched currently.

Presently, no arrests have been made and also initial reports indicate this was an unintentional shooting.

This is an ongoing examination.
