Nov. 16– Authorities are searching for a person seen in video surveillance video footage throwing a dog crate with a rabbit inside right into a popular Gastonia lake.
A pedestrian in Rankin Lake Park in the 1700 block of Rankin Lake Roadway found the dog crate drifting on the water following 10:30 a.m. Oct. 25, Gaston Area Authorities said Friday.
A black-and-white bunny was located dead in the cage, according to a police news release on Friday.
Gaston Area Authorities Animal Treatment and Enforcement officers are examining the situation as animal ruthlessness.
Park video clip footage reveals “a white man, dark hair, roughly 5’10” throwing the service provider into the lake,” according to the launch.
Authorities dispersed a still picture from the video footage revealing a silver SUV, possibly a Honda, the man was driving. Cops have not released the video clip footage they state shows the man tossing the cage onto the lake.
