Cops Catch known ‘looter’ who rammed police with getaway car

A 24-year-old guy was arrested Tuesday morning for supposedly hitting a police officer with his getaway vehicle after robbery a Manhattan store, police stated.

Jahara Joberteh is dealing with charges of attack, break-in, riot and driving without a license over the June 1 event in Greenwich Town, cops said.

Authorities said Joberteh and 6 others were caught on electronic camera breaking into a mobile phone shop at 14 W. 8th St. just before 3:30 a.m.– as dozens of looters descended on downtown Manhattan with police officers tied up with George Floyd protests.

Cops tried to stop the group of looters, who had stacked into a Ford Explorer with short-term Wisconsin plates, by blocking in the SUV.

However Joberteh floored it, plowing into an officer, who had gotten out of the marked automobile, video shows.

The officer was required to Bellevue Health center, where he recuperated from his leg injuries.
