It’s been a long period of time coming, however you’ll only have to wait a couple of more weeks to play the very first Battletoads game since the the mid-’90s. We first heard about Battletoads in 2018 and while the original plan was to release it last year, a new trailer attempts to make the case that it was worth the wait.
The game has a distinct appearance, thanks to its hand-drawn visuals. It’ll jump in between different categories, including platformer, shoot ’em up as well as, of course, defeated ’em up.
There are both 2D and 3D levels, as well as there’s a new take on the infamously challenging Turbo Tunnel phase from the initial video game. Battletoads supports three-player couch co-op, so you can rope in a couple of good friends or member of the family to aid you survive several of the disorderly action.
Battletoads will drop on Xbox One and PC on August 20th. Xbox Game Pass participants can pre-load it currently.
