James Murdoch, the son of Rupert Murdoch, the media tycoon has reportedly resigned from the News Corporation board on Friday.
James has mentioned in his resignation letter that the decision is due to “disagreements over certain editorial content published by the company’s news outlets and certain other strategic decisions.”
The News Corp. is also the owner of The Wall street Journal and the New York Post. James has served as a top News executive in the U.S, U.K and Asia. He served as the co-CEO from 2015 to 2019.
James also possesses to be someone with liberal opinions unlike his elder brother and his father, Rupert. According to different sources, the story of these two brothers has influenced the storyline of the HBO series Succession. He has also been openly critical about many news coverages from Empire News Corp.
Rupert and his elder son Lachlan said while talking about James’ decision, “We’re grateful to James for his many years of service to the company. We wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”
In light of the current situation, a spokesperson said, “They are particularly disappointed with the ongoing denial among the news outlets in Australia, given obvious evidence to the contrary.”
