Katie Holmes reveals that being quarantined with Suri Cruise has made her ‘look at everything’
Katie Holmes is extremely private when it comes to discussing about her daughter, Suri Cruise.
But the actress gave out rare information during the promotion of her latest film The Secret: Dare to Dream.
In a virtual conference, the actress told an Australian newspaper, The Daily Telegraph that she has learned how to celebrate simple tasks.
“I like to keep her out of my interviews, but I will say that this time of quarantine has been such a lesson.
Just really looking at everything you have and celebrating the simplicity of making dinner and [spending] that time together,” the 41-year-old said.
The actress is currently quarantined with her 14-year-old daughter in New York. She shares Suri with ex-husband, Tom Cruise. Tom and Katie married in 2006. Suri was born in April 2006. But the couple parted ways in 2012.
The star had her big breakthrough in the teen drama series, Dawson’s Creek. She added that she feels ‘very blessed.’
“When I think about my life, I feel very blessed. I have felt very lucky and I rely on my instincts a lot but I also forgive myself for mistakes.”
The actress has been maintaining her film schedule with motherhood. Her latest film is based on Rhonda Byrne’s 2006 self-help book.
Holmes portrays Miranda Wells. Miranda is a widow with three children. The movie covers her struggles to provide for her children, both financially and emotionally.
Holmes appears to be quite inspired by the role she has portrayed. In an interview with ET!, she said that the narrative is a good accompaniment to the book.
“She’s really struggling to provide financially and emotionally, and you just see her exhausted and really not surrendering to anything, just kind of fighting it all.
That’s taking its toll on her children and her relationships and she’s just not being true to herself.”
Katie added that it was really powerful to watch Miranda go from her situation to finding hope.
The Secret: Dare to Dream has premiered in selected Australian cinemas.
