German jewelry store owner fatally shot 2 robbers who broke into his business

A jeweler in Germany shot and eliminated 2 thieves during a attempted break-in at his shop, authorities stated.

The owner and his other half, who are both in their early 70s, were the only ones there Monday at the time of the break-in in the northern city of Celle, German news agency dpa reported.

One of the suspected robbers was fatally shot at the scene, while the 2nd later passed away at the medical facility, authorities said.

Regional authorities have asked witnesses to come forward with any info– including tourists who might have been taking photos in the town at the time of the event.
