A bold anti-masker was dragged out of a South Dakota school board meeting by authorities for refusing to use a face covering, according to video footage shared on social media.
The man, recognized as Reed Bender, was asked repeatedly to wear a mask at the Mitchell Board of Education conference Monday prior to polices were called to the scene, regional paper the Mitchell Republic reported.
Video shared on Facebook then shows an officer discussing to Bender that he is in infraction of a district-wide policy that requires using masks on school property– and states he does not want to need to forcibly removed him from the building.
” I understand you don’t want to do it, however unfortunately, you need to follow these fool’s guidelines, right?” Bender fires back.
The father-of-two then informs the two Mitchell Police Department officers called to the scene he will not leave willingly– and calls the event “horrible.”.
” Force me out. You’re going to need to drag me out,” he says, according to the video footage.
The officers then take Bender by the arms to escort him out, with one officer seen taking out his Taser as the papa resists.
” You’re going to need to Tase me in front of all of these people,” Bender states, as shocked parents prompt him to stop making a scene.
Prior to the conference began, the board’s president Deborah Olson, announced that masks were readily available for anybody in attendance who did not have one, according to the Mitchell Republic.
Bender, who was sitting in the front row of the conference, has spoken out against the district’s mask required in the past.
