A second individual has been detained and charged in the fatal shootng of a Wilson 5-year-old back in August.
Wilson Cops on Tuesday night stated Aolani Takemi Marie Pettit, 21, of Wilson, was charged with felony accessory after the fact. Pettit got a $250,000 protected bond.
In a court appearance on Wednesday early morning, district attorneys outlined the charges against her.
They state she understood her boyfriend Darrius Sessoms, 25, had actually shot the kid and that she assisted him leave town, consisting of supplying him transportation.
Sessoms was apprehended in Goldsboro not long after the shooting and faces a charge of first-degree murder.
Pettit requested for a court-appointed defense attorney. Her next court date was set for Oct. 12.
