Saturday Night Live witnessed yet another mesmerizing performance. This time it was the host, Issa Rae. She made her SNL debut with an opening monologue sharing what it felt like to be the host of SNL.
Saturday Night Live(SNL) is an American sketchy comedy and variety show which premiers late at night on the television. The show premieres on NBC and was created by Lorne Michaels and developed by Dick Ebersol.
Issa Rae was the host for the recent episode of Saturday Night Live and she made her debut with her delightful opening monologue sharing how the show feels like a celebration of her hard work after four years of Insecure- a comedy-drama television series created by Issa Rae and Larry Wilmore.
Rae explains metaphorically how Insecure which premiered in 2016 was like high school for her. She did not know if or how exactly would she fit in Hollywood during the first year when she filmed the HBO show.
She again compares SNL with prom and says that how hosting SNL is like finally attending the prom after the gruelling high school years. She says that everyone present there at SNL is like her date. She says that she is ready to go all way long for them.
Rae also talked about her quarantine weekend agreeing that she was booked and busy initially at the start of quarantine, but was bored during the later. She says that SNL is the only thing (besides building puzzles) she has going right now.
